Our Story
Built from the Inside Out
LANE Associates was founded on a simple conviction: America's greatest housing opportunities begin with meaningful conversations. Our mission is to connect people, ideas, and organizations that are passionate about expanding housing opportunities for more Americans, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, policymakers, manufacturers, developers, community organizations, educators, investors, and advocates to share knowledge, challenge conventional thinking, and create practical solutions.
We educate. We facilitate. We collaborate. We innovate. Whether training industry professionals, moderating national conversations, advising organizations, developing strategic partnerships, or introducing new ideas, our purpose remains the same: to help good people accomplish great things together.

Chris "LANE" Nicely
President & CEO, LANE Associates LLC
Lane Nicely brings more than three decades of off-site built housing experience to every engagement. Based in Dallas, TX, he has spent his career working with private, public, and non-profit developers, understanding how to leverage high-value factory-built housing in affordable housing efforts across the country.
Lane has worked closely with leading organizations across the manufactured and modular housing ecosystem, including Clayton Homes, Cavco Industries, Skyline Champion, Next Step Network, MHI, Fannie Mae, HUD, and Enterprise Community Partners, helping them navigate regulatory change, build coalitions, and develop strategies that expand access to quality affordable housing.
A prolific writer and sought-after speaker, Lane authors the "What You Need To Know" blog covering HUD Code policy, zoning reform, market demographics, and factory-built housing strategy. He has presented at national industry conferences, engaged state and federal policymakers on landmark legislation including the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, and built a reputation as one of the most trusted voices in the industry.
